Fashion Asia 2020 Virtual Exhibition

MetaObjects conceptualised and developed a virtual exhibition for 10 Asian Designers To Watch showcase for Fashion Asia 2020 presented by Hong Kong Design Centre featuring outfits by 10 fashion designers, including: Caroline Hu, STAFFONLY, Chen Peng, Blindness, Cornerstone, J Koo, Children Of The Discordance, DEMO, ASAI, and Robert Wun. The project was developed as a result of the COVID 19 restrictions where the annual Fashion Asia showcase was forced to move online. This was the first time for the Design Centre to engage extensively with digital programmes. MetaObjects helped to develop the idea of the virtual showrooms to create unique online experiences to showcase fashion design.

The virtual exhibition features showroom concepts by the 10 designers to create a virtual experience including spatial design, music and lighting to showcase their outfits. Visitors can navigate the showroom environment by clicking through the space. Upon clicking on one of the outfits, a 360 viewer pops-up to allow users to rotate the outfit and zoom into view the outfit in high-resolution. Additional media is also included in the showroom such as brand videos, look books, runway and fashion photography. The virtual exhibition is mobile-friendly and available in three languages English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.
