Natalie Lo Lai-Lai
Life as Usual AR Installation
Youth Square, Chai Wan
For the ARCH Interactive Exhibition at Y Platform, Youth Square, Chai Wan, MetaObjects worked with Natalie Lo Lai-Lai to create an AR Instagram filter of fabric calendar artworks. The outdoor installation was on display for the Youth Arts Week from 7-10 August 2021. The project was curated by Pointsman Art Creation.
The work, Life as Usual, features the artist's drawings of birds, plants and wildlife from farmlands in Hong Kong, where the artist actively works. The screen-printed calendars act as markers for an AR filter where the images come to life with animations of the birds along with sounds of bird calls. The work brings elements of the natural environment and rural experience of animals into the urban centre of Chai Wan in the exhibition exploring Rural Art and Symbiosis.
