Educational Workshops

In Summer 2018, MetaObjects facilitated a number of workshops at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong, including a 2-day introduction to Motion Capture workshop Centre for Applied Computing and Interactive Media (ACIM) lab using the Raptor motion tracking system. The first day was spent in the lab walking through the system with a brief history of the technology with key examples of artists using various kinds of motion capture technology. The second took place in the computer labs where there was a walk through of how to apply the motion capture data to a 3D avatar using Blender.

MetaObjects also facilitated a series of 3 intro to VR workshops for the VR Story Lab at the school. The workshop explores the basics of developing VR projects in Unity, the different navigation and interactive possibilities. Students will be able to develop their own unique project for HTC Vive or Google Cardboard. Education is an integral part of our mission to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and open up to the creative possibilities of new technologies.
