360 Video and Audio Workshop

In March 2021, we presented a 2-day 360 video and audio workshop at the Screen Production and Research Centre (SPaRC) at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. We worked with MFA students and faculty to explore 360 video and audio recording using Insta360 Titan and ambisonic recording with an Zoom H3 recorder.

The first day covered recording techniques and stitching and exporting the 360 video using Insta360 Stitcher and Mistika. On the second day, we explored post-production of spatialised audio with 360 video and exporting for Oculus VR and live streaming on Facebook and Youtube. As part of the workshop, we produced a comprehensive technical manual and provided artistic and educational examples of 360 video and audio.
